OUR WORLD IN A NEW LIGHT
Sol Bound is an audio-visual ambient exploration focused on visualizing the connection of the human spirit with natural landscapes from around the world. The project is ambitious, with many disciplines converging to create each chapter. Employing aerial and land-based cinematography from many regions, soothing luminescent particle sculptures, and lush ambient soundscapes to create a multi-dimensional experience for focus, meditation, relaxation, studying, sleep, and more.
The visual direction for the luminous sculptures were tailored to express a sense of soothing harmony and unity with nature, but also a powerful sense of vastness and vitality. Through a long process of experimentation from referencing natural erosion patterns and satellite imagery of the winds and ocean currents, it felt essential to visualize the ebb and flow of these phenomena via rhythmic waves of sweeping energy.

All cinematography is shot-on location by Reuko with a pair of DJI Drones. The series is in it’s early stages, with location shoots focused around Scandinavia and expanding to many more regions for future chapters. The project’s workflow is designed to allow for easy collaboration with cinematographers, drone pilots, sound designers, musicians, spoken-word artists, models, to name a few.
The viewer is guided to soak in the ebb and flow of these powerful natural phenomena, and experience a world where our human energy flows in a sustainable balance with our delicate ecosystems. The full vision for the project is to expand beyond the digital experience, and into our public spaces with installations and exhibitions that live and breathe with us in the present.
